Port Regis is magic - an educational experience which is different yet still provides all the qualities of the traditional. This well-established and highly successful co-ed Prep School is set in 150 acres of beautiful Dorset parkland just outside the historic town of Shaftesbury.

The facilities include a purpose-built science and technology centre, a  450-seat theatre, a new dining hall and kitchens, a nine-hole golf-course, an astroturf hockey pitch and a sports complex which serves as a National Centre for Junior Gymnastics and which includes a 25-metre indoor heated swimming-pool and squash courts. The Farrington Music School on the edge of the school lake provides outstanding facilities for music-making and the JM Upward Academic Centre opens alongside it in September 2008.

Boarding numbers are at record levels (260 out of the 350 total) and demand continues to be heavily in excess of supply, contrary to the national trend.

The Common Room is a hard-working, friendly and happy blend of experienced and youthful staff, most of whom are resident. They pride themselves on the care they take of the children and the high standards they achieve both in and out of the classroom. Outstanding success in examinations and sport, as well as music, art and drama of the highest standard, reflect the excellent and enthusiastic teaching. Eighty-eight scholarships to senior independent schools in the last three years underline the remarkable standards achieved by the children at Port Regis.

Each child may select his or her own Tutor. Exeats are flexible and parents enjoy easy access to their children. Holiday expeditions are organised and a full service is offered to parents resident abroad.
