Strathallan School is one of Scotland’s leading independent co-educational boarding and day schools for children aged 9-18. Located on a beautiful campus in 150 acres of rural Perthshire, the School is within easy reach of Scotland’s international airports and two hours travel of London.

Throughout Strathallan, the supportive environment values the strengths of each pupil and places emphasis on the importance of the individual within a team. The ideals of responsibility, tolerance and integrity are developed, encouraging pupils to become happy, confident and well-adjusted individuals, prepared for the challenges of adult life.

The School is committed to providing an excellent education, and Strathallan’s academic record is one of the best in the country. Over 95% of pupils go on to university, with a good number securing places at Oxford and Cambridge. Strathallan offers GCSE, AS & A2 Level, Standard Grade, Intermediate 2 and Higher examinations across a broad curriculum.

Facilities are constantly being upgraded and improved, giving the School’s pupils access to the latest technology and learning materials. Recent additions include a new art school, design and technology centre, biology and chemistry laboratories, and a computing building.

There is also an unrivalled range of sporting and extra-curricular activities on offer, including rugby, cricket, hockey, netball, tennis and skiing. Around 50% of pupils learn a musical instrument, and there are senior and junior orchestras, a jazz band, a pipe band and choirs. The art school teaches drawing, painting, ceramics and print-making. In addition, most pupils are involved in regular school/house drama productions. Other activities include the Combined Cadet Force and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

The ethos of Strathallan is friendly, disciplined and caring - to bring out the very best in each individual child. Our junior house, Riley, is for pupils aged 9-13, and the six senior boarding houses (a seventh is under construction) provide single study-accommodation for all pupils in their last four years. The house system ensures a high level of pastoral care, praised in recent HMI and Care Welfare inspections, and parents remain closely involved in their child’s development and upbringing.

Indeed, at Strathallan each pupil is encouraged to develop his or her own potential to the full, realising both evident and hidden talents and therefore creating opportunities for all to excel.
